Nike LeBron NXXT Gen shoes to be released in “I Promise” variant with orange and blue colors
Market prices for iconic footwear ranges from professional basketball players to sportswear juggernauts like Nike, Adidasand PUMA have steadily increased over the years. This is due to both inflation and the cost of researching and developing new technologies with every sneaker design.
The changing market dynamics are said to lead to an influx of cheaper and technically more advanced takedown variants, saving buyers money while delivering commendable performance in the field. LeBron James’ Ambassador line is a great example of a takedown variation.
LeBron James has accomplished more in his 20 seasons as a professional NBA basketball player than anyone could have predicted. As he approaches the end of his career, “the kid from Akron” thinks about the next generation. The upcoming Nike LeBron NXXT Gen, which will release in an “I Promise” colorway, will replace the $200 Nike LeBron 20.
The upcoming sneaker’s color scheme is inspired by LeBron’s I Promise School in Akron, Ohio. The blue and orange color pattern on the left and right shoes sets the pair apart, and the structure appears to be more mid-top in shape than the recently introduced LeBron 20 silhouette.
A molded mesh wraps the upper completely in each shoe’s color scheme, with hits of suede appearing on the top of the toe and heel counter.
The uppers of each shoe are finished with sets of lace in a contrasting color. Additionally, the tongue flap is multi-colored and the black and pink suede on top is missing.
The Nike Swoosh on the profile of the shoe is iridescent and there are stitching details all around. Branding is reminiscent of the LeBron 20. Pink accents the small Swoosh to the back of the main logo as well as “NXXT” branding to the center of the insole with LeBron’s crown logo.
Underneath is an all-Black Air Zoom unit with Pink and Yellow accents on the heel counters. A grippy rubber outsole in the same color as the main component of the upper completes the look.
Nike and specific Nike Basketball stores will launch the Nike LeBron NXXT Gen “I Promise” variant online and in-store on February 10, 2023 for $160 in men’s sizes.
