Air Jordan 4 was inducted into the Jordans catalog in 1989. Tinker Hatfield’s contemporary and beloved shoe design will be wrapped in solid black canvas for the latest edition.

The Air Jordan 4 story, on Nike’s official website, states the following:

“Since his game-winning shot that brought championship glory to North Carolina, Michael Jordan has been at the forefront of basketball consciousness. He took to the court in 1985 wearing the Air Jordan I original, simultaneously breaking league rules and the will of its opponents, while capturing the imagination of fans around the world.

While not a new model, it looks like 2022 will be a big year for the Canvas and Air Jordan 4 duo, as the “Blank Canvas” palette was released in February of this year.

Earlier in 2022, a few popular Jordan insiders namely @prvt.selection, @knowing_kicks and @zsneakerheadz shared a detailed look at the upcoming Black Canvas Air Jordans.

These bold black shoes feature different elements of black throughout. The toes are constructed of namesake black canvas, contoured with velvety fabrics. While the canvas front gives a matte look, the velvet, on the other hand, has a lot of shine.

In addition to black, shades of white and gray are also used to create these web designs. Adjacent to the toe, gray eyelets are positioned to hold strong black laces. These gray eyelets are made of TPU.

The textile tongues and its neighboring areas are wrapped in a black mesh. The free end of the tabs are adorned with the signature Jumpman badges with minimal red detailing.

These red hues are also found on the black insoles. The full monotonous inner lining as well as the insole are accented with these red Jumpman logos placed on the insoles.

The heel counters feature a TPU cutout on the tongues with the white Jumpman logo embroidered underneath.

Gray accents are also used to adorn the forefoot. The front portion of the midsoles appear gray which perfectly complements the shades of the solid black canvas. At the rear, the midsole features a white and translucent composition. The usual air units are prominent from the glassy section of the midsoles.

Finally, the sneaker is finished with black outsoles. The base of these outsole units are adorned with all the colors you see on the upper, specifically red, grey, black and white.
