Japanese streetwear brand The Black Eye Patch has reconnected with Reebok for a new line of sports sneakers that incorporate design elements of service packaging, handling and delivery, titled “Reebok Designed by Black Eye Patch” .
Summer 2020 saw the brand collaborate with Reebok for the first time on its 35th anniversary and this new drop features two hard-hitting styles, the GL3000 and the CL Legacy AZ, which are a modified display of the well-known “Handle With Care” from BEP. “Attention” and “Danger” marks. The ‘GL’ sneaker is available in a wheat-black and white colourway with the Reebok ‘R’ logo placed delicately in a pair of red graphic hands adjacent to the nylon mesh toe box. The tab has a barcode image of the Reebok logo with the “Do not fold” delivery slip. The outsole is a beige streaked gum that matches the scalloped back, and an all-black version of the GL has the same backstay details.
The “CL” sneaker is a more modern style – available in black or navy blue – with a space foam outsole, suede upper, nylon mesh mid section and contrast stitching around the collar. The zipper pull is in bright orange leather and the back of the shoe contains directional arrows which further emphasize the theme of the delivery design.
Both styles of Black Eye Patch x Reebok sneakers are available on the Reebok Shibuya site in Tokyo and online on the Reebok Japan website.
