Since trading for Russell Westbrook in August 2021, the Los Angeles Lakers haven’t had much success. There’s a lot of blame to be had for the Lakers’ problems on the field. However, Westbrook drew the ire of many fans.
From mean nicknames to harsh insults, Westbrook has had to endure a lot since putting on the purple and gold. It hasn’t been the reception the UCLA Bruins legend had hoped for 15 months ago.
Despite having every reason to hold a grudge against the fans, Westbrook continues to rise above it. After last night’s win over the Detroit Pistons, the 9x NBA All-Star took a quick detour on his way to the locker room.
Westbrook returned from the tunnel to give his game-worn Jordan Brand shoes to a young fan. Twitter user Samantha Hermann shared the video online and thanked Westbrook for making the kid’s first NBA game so memorable.

Fans can purchase the shoes from the Jordan Brand website for between $107 and $130. The Jordan Why Not .5 contains a large volume Zoom Air unit for cushioning. Plus, it has a strap adjustment system to support explosive players like Westbrook.
Images of Westbrook’s sixth signature shoe have already surfaced online. However, we hate to see the Jordan Why Not .5 go. Much like Westbrook’s game, his sneaker line is painfully underrated.
