Former presidential aide Reno Omokri reacted to the shoes worn by ruling All Progressive Congress vice-presidential candidate Kashim Shettima at the annual conference of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA on Monday.
Naija News reports that the NBA Annual General Meeting is being held at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The 2022 NBA AGM is themed “BOLD Transitions” and its general conference is scheduled to be held August 19-26, with the opening ceremony taking place today (Monday).
Shettima, was also present at the event to represent the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
However, Omokri took to Instagram to condemn Shettima for his shoes.
The PDP stalwart chastised the former Borno state governor for wearing a pair of sports shoes while in a suit.
He wrote: “Here’s Tinubu’s running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima, at the NBA’s annual general conference earlier today. Look at his feet. Who in their right mind wears a suit and tie and then puts on a pair of sneakers? If Shettima doesn’t know how to dress for a formal conference, how will he be able to meet Nigeria’s many challenges?
“Imagine if it was the United Nations General Assembly. What will his dress sense project onto Nigeria? A man who cannot pack himself is very unlikely to pack progress for a nation that has been damaged by the Congress government General Buhari’s All Progressives! If you are a foreign investor, would you invest in a country where the vice president is seen in public like this? The man heard the NBA and thought it was the National Basketball Association. That’s why he wore sneakers over a suit and tie. Running mate wearing running shoes! No be juju be that?
