Reebok × Maharishi – 360 MAGAZINE

Reebok and London-based streetwear brand Maharishi have announced their second collaborative project, the Maharishi x Reebok LT Court Hemp, making use of the plant-based fabric that has been a mainstay of Maharishi collections since the 1990s. The Maharishi x Reebok LT Court Hemp ( $120, GZ9587) is available October 28 exclusively at Maharishi ahead of its wider global release November 7 on and select fashion retailers.

Founded in 1994 by Hardy Blechman, Maharishi is defined by its aesthetic of “pacifist military design” and a deep respect for nature and utilitarian design. Following their Spring 2022 collaboration on Reebok’s Classic Leather AZ, this next installment continues to show the brands’ mutual respect for traditional athletic footwear.

“This is yet another great opportunity for us to delve into Reebok’s rich archive of classics,” commented Maharishi founder Hardy Blechman.

Constructed with an army green rubber outsole, chalk midsole, and off-white hemp weave upper, Maharishi’s LT Court Hemp offers a natural, understated take on the 40-year-old court model.

“Hemp belongs to one of the most versatile, resilient and advanced plant families on Earth, which makes it especially important to us as a medium for creating products,” Blechman explained, alluding to the dedication of Maharishi to the manufacture of hemp and the use of other organic materials.

Additional key design elements for the shoe include a soft suede heel tab and terry lining, Maharishi logo arch wrap, Maharishi logo window box and OG LT Court components like a toe box deconstructed and hull sole tooling.

“The Court LT is a great shoe from Reebok’s ’80s archives,” Blechman concluded. “Using hemp and a minimalist design, the piece stays true to Maharishi styling and classic Reebok styling.”

The story is told visually from Maharishi’s studio in Soho, with campaign images (HERE) featuring Shy FX, a legendary producer from the UK jungle music scene in which Reebok has long been entwined.
