Reebok announced this week that it has signed a deal with online retail company Zappos to launch its first-ever collection of adaptive footwear. The American manufacturer of fitness shoes and apparel named this line of accessible athletic shoes “Fit to Fit”.
With its new collection, Reebok offers something that will be very useful for people with disabilities. Indeed, this type of shoe design makes it easier to put on and take off their shoes.
As mentioned on Input Mag, Reebok presents two models of accessible shoes, and both styles are low cut. It was made this way for easy mobility, and it has high abrasion rubber outsoles for better traction. The sneaker brand has also added removable sock liners for orthotics.
The two design models are the Nanoflex Parafit TR and the Club MEMT Parafit. The former features a breathable mesh upper with a medial zipper and heel tab, making it easy to get on and off.
The latter type is a sneaker equipped with a leather upper, a mid-zip and an extra 4E width. Both shoe models come with perfect laces for an adjustable fit. The Verge reported that Reebok’s Club MEMT Parafit retails for $65 while the Nanoflex Parafit TR retails for $90.
The lace up closure and zipper design will allow users to lace up according to their fit. This means that the laces can be adjusted so that the shoes fit the wearer perfectly. Both types of sneakers are already available on Reebok’s and Zappos’ e-commerce sites.
