PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A new line of high heels have hit the market with specialized comfort technology designed by a doctor in Philadelphia. High heels are making a comeback with the reopening of offices and the resumption of socialization. This new line claims to offer both style and comfort.
The holiday season is about to begin. This means that many women will wear high heels for the first time since the pandemic ended.

“I wanted something comfortable,” said Genevieve Adams.
Adams turned to a whole new line.
“At Kiki Price, we believe stylish shoes should be comfortable without compromising on beauty,” says an ad.
Kiki and Price are the names of the founders. The shoes are designed and handcrafted in Italy, and the comfort technology comes from Philadelphia foot and ankle surgeon, Dr. Rick Jay.
“What some people put in their shoe as an insert became the shoe,” Jay said.
Jay used 3D technology to create a sole that redistributes pressure, instead of the typical foot position in a high heel over the toe.
“I was able to transfer a percentage of the weight from the forefoot to the arch of the heel,” Jay said. “It’s more of a redistribution of the function of the foot in a high heeled shoe to decrease the amount of pressure on areas that shouldn’t have pressure.”

It makes the pointed toes more comfortable.
“Your toes aren’t compressed in the front,” Adams said.
Other features include the sole made of something called Technogel, which acts as a shock absorber, and a slight cup around the heel that helps reduce the instability found in traditional high heels.
Jay says this should reduce falls which cause most high heel-related injuries.
“Very different from all the other shoes on the market,” Jay said.
They also have a hefty price tag, in the range of $ 600.
“I don’t know if it’s the softness of the suede or what exactly they designed, but they did a really good job because they are very comfortable,” Adams said.
