Meghan Markle’s greeting card outfit is casual by design

Contrary to what many may assume, members of the Royal Family are not always dressed for public appearances. Think Kate Middleton’s blue jeans from & Other Stories, or the many sport-chic outfits Princess Diana donned in the ’80s and’ 90s. Recently, another high profile family member demonstrated her penchant for them. clean clothes. For her greeting card outfit, Meghan Markle wore an ultra relaxed sweater and jeans set. This look is a perfect match for her life in California, as the aforementioned combo is a must-have for street style stars and non-fashion girls in LA and New York.

On December 23, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex released their 2021 greeting card, featuring a family portrait of Alexi Lubomirski – a fashion photographer who took the couple’s engagement and wedding photos. When choosing an outfit for the milestone occasion, Markle decided to stick to her minimalist aesthetic and went for a deliberately relaxed look: a navy turtleneck, blue skinny jeans and a pair of beige ballerinas. Prince Harry and their son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor followed suit and also wore denim, which they paired with crisp button-down shirts. It is very possible that their outfits were simple in design, as the flashy outfit would likely detract from the special moment captured by Lubomirski.

Additionally, it was the first time the couple have shared an image of their six-month-old daughter, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor. In the photo of the greeting card that was would have taken during the summer, Lilibet wore a white dress to compliment Archie’s white top. “This year 2021, we have welcomed our daughter, Lilibet, into the world,” the couple wrote. “Archie made us a ‘mom’ and a ‘dad’, and Lili made us family.” The greeting card accompanied the announcement of several donations made to organizations that “honor and protect families” such as Team Rubicon, Humanity Crew and Paid Leave for All.

By now it has become clear that the Duchess has a penchant for the minimal style. She has a soft spot for fancy basics like sweaters and coats, especially brands with understated aesthetics: consider her Global Citizen Festival outfit for September 2021, which included a woolen coat by Emporio Armani and a Bodycon turtleneck from The Row, both in a deep navy blue. Markle’s mossy green look from the inside of 2021 Time The number 100 was also simplified (the turtleneck top and pants were from The Row.)
