Houston’s Heart Card is your passport to discounts at major stores and restaurants – Save for a good cause


Abeware savvy buyers. The American Heart Association Shop With Heart Card, presented by the Heart Guild of Houston, kicked off by offering cardholders 20% off local stores and restaurants through this Sunday, May 1.

Here’s how it works: Participants purchase the Shop With Heart card with a minimum donation of $50, 100% of which will go to the American Heart Association. The card is good for discounts at area stores, from The Woodlands to Pearland and hundreds of points in between. The Container Store, for example, participates in all of its stores in the region. Various restaurants also offer specials on the table.

See you soon and French Cuff’s cutest clothes and accessories are available for 20% off with the card. Likewise the jewels of Tenenbaum and Zadok. The fabulous Italian shoes of Clorinde Antinori at River Oaks are also on the program. (If you haven’t been, check out this shop. The handmade shoes are fabulous.)

Divine Gifts of by Bering, must-have jewelry from Kendra Scott and decorative products from Savannah House in The Heights are also on the discount table. At restaurants including Tony’s, Ouisie’s Table and more, the menu will allow you to choose a free appetizer or dessert when purchasing a main course.

A full list of participating Houston stores and restaurants is available here, They are listed in alphabetical or geographical order. Shop With Heart cards are available at all participating entities.

The card launch party was held at the ever-intriguing Kuhl Linscomb, which has long supported fundraising. Former ABC 13 travel presenter Katherine Whaley co-organized the event where there was not only good shopping but also the possibility of participating to win door prizes at the various participating merchants.

The festive event featured decadent cuisine courtesy of Guard and Grace, Ouisie’s Table, KP’s Kitchen and Bollo Woodfired Pizza with a selection of libations from Decant Urban Winery. A local DJ kept the shopping going as attendees took advantage of Heart Card discounts on everything from clothing and homewares to a huge assortment of bath products and candles.
