Houston suspects tricked into robbing liquor store for $4,200 bottle of liquor

HOUSTON, TX (KWTX) – The Houston Police Department asks for the public’s help in identifying the suspects responsible for a robbery.

The three suspects walked into a liquor store in the 2800 block of the Katy Highway at around 2 p.m. on May 23 where they inquired about a $4,200 bottle of liquor that was locked in a display case.

According to police, an employee unlocked the display case and took out the bottle of alcohol when one of the men then forcibly grabbed the bottle from the employee’s hands and fled the store.

The second suspect allegedly reached into the display case and pulled out another box of the same liquor, which he then allegedly dropped as he ran out of the store upon realizing the box was empty.

The bottle of liquor the suspects fled the store with was a decoy bottle of very little value and not the real $4,200 bottle of liquor, as claimed by the employee.

Investigators describe the suspect as a black male wearing a white sweater, black shorts, a white cap and white shoes. Suspect two as a black man wearing a black Nike sweater, dark shorts and blue shoes. Suspect three as a black man with a goatee and wearing black jackets and blue jeans.
