First Look: Kids Foot Locker Launches Gaming-Focused Store Concept


Kids Foot Locker unveiled a new concept focused on serving local communities with a full family experience rooted in the game.

The sportswear and footwear retailer has launched its new concept, dubbed “House of Play,” with a location in Miami. A second store is slated to open Jan. 21 in Dallas, with more to come throughout the year.

The over 8,000 square feet. The Miami store provides a first-time experience for kids and includes interactive play landscapes, activity zones, and the latest shoes, clothing and accessories for kids of all ages. Brands featured include Nike, Jordan, New Balance, Crocs, Timberland and others.

The new Kids Foot Locker format offers shopping areas targeted at specific age groups in terms easily understood by children, such as toddlers and babies, toddlers and children. Each zone has an activity zone adapted to each group. The middle of the store contains a play landscape, described as a common activity area where children of all ages can play. The zone is highly modular to allow for in-store events and community-driven programming that includes workshops, keynote speakers, and more.

Spaces for Children, Toddlers and Toddlers and Babies contain age-appropriate activity spaces, ranging from padded climbing structures for toddlers to study tables and stools for elementary school students.
