Fila resets innovation and design teams in reorganization

Fila Holdings Corp. announced the reorganization of its global teams to support the creation of its Futura Innovation Team, focused on innovation and sustainability, and its Design Team, responsible for developing global product lines. The new structure aims to “strengthen the company’s organizational capabilities to execute its five-year global strategy, ‘Winning Together'”, announced by the company in February 2022.

Futura’s innovation team and design team operate under Fila Luxembourg SarL, a wholly owned subsidiary of Fila Holdings which oversees Fila’s global brands, except in China, Hong Kong and Macao, which are under the management of Anta Sports. Both teams are led by the Director of Global Strategic Marketing Luca Bertolinowho has worked in this capacity as an entrepreneur for the past two years.

The Futura Innovation Team will develop specialist footwear grounded in technology and sustainability, with three primary goals: to build brand momentum, advance tennis-based products and marketing, and lead sustainability stewardship. The team is led by Mikal Peveto, who helped drive innovation while working at Fila in the early to mid-2000s. Since then, he has developed footwear for Nike and Adidas, including developing and marketing Adidas Boost technology. Until recently, Peveto was president of Blumaka.

Leading the Futura design team is David Bondwho helped create Nike’s Jordan brand and Under Armour’s Curry series. To mark Sheehan and Jason Stewart lead the engineering division. Sheehan helped develop technologies including Nike’s Air Max and Under Armour’s HOVR, while former Olympian Stewart helped develop Adidas’ Adizero shoe collection.

The design team, which aims to energize Fila’s apparel, footwear and accessories categories, is led by Torsten Hochstetter as Global Head of Design. Hochstetter served as Global Creative Director at Puma from 2013 to 2021. He also worked at Adidas for 15 years.

In addition, Paola Logisci joins the design team as head of apparel and accessories. She has over 20 years of international experience in sportswear and fashion, including Fila until 2008, Nike and Intersport International.

Marc Eggert is responsible for the footwear division of the design team, continuing his 17-year career at Fila since joining the brand in 2005. Eggert was instrumental in reinterpreting Fila’s Disruptor 2 sneaker. He was also behind the design of performance footwear, including his Speedserve and Axilus 2 Energized.

The design team will present a new collection during the fall/winter 2023 season.
