Ecco opens new design studio in New York Navy Yard

Ecco, a longtime Danish shoe and leather goods manufacturer, has opened a beautiful design studio in the Brooklyn Navy Yard in Brooklyn, New York. The design studio measures 7,000 square feet and was opened to combine footwear industry professionals with creatives to inspire new shoe and bag designs.

This is the first such venture in the United States for Ecco and the space will allow the company to develop relationships with wholesalers, vendors, designers and other enthusiasts.

Ecco was founded in 1963 and its open door philosophy is still relevant today. The studio will host industry allies to learn about innovations in sustainability and material technologies relevant to Ecco’s specialties.

Ecco hosted a media event at the studio where journalists and other golf and fashion personalities were invited to learn more about Ecco’s technology and business.

Watch how Ecco Golf USA General Manager Jesper Thuen spoke about the history of the golf shoe and Ecco’s latest innovations like the Biom H4.
