In the past, we have seen several customization and modification projects spearheaded by renowned automotive designer Dilip Chhabria under his DC company, now known as DC2. Among them, the most interesting, in a pleasant way, are the interior salon conversion kits for SUVs and MUVs. DC2 released a teaser of their next project, the DC2 Senator, on their YouTube channel, which is a fully customized version of a Toyota Innova Crysta with living room-like interiors.
The DC2 Senator looks like a regular Toyota Innova Crysta from the outside. However, enter the cabin and you will be greeted by the extensively customized cabin, which is divided into two parts – the forward cabin with original seats and the aft cabin with two lounge type seats. Starting with the front cabin, the DC2 Senator gets soft two-tone black and beige leather upholstery, with a new beige finish for the lower part of the dashboard and door panels. The seats here are wrapped in custom brown leather seats, with the same brown leather retained for the dash and door cushion inlays.
Behind the front seats, the DC2 Senator benefits from a fully covered bulkhead, which separates the forward cabin from the aft cabin. In the rear, the minivan underwent significant changes, with the second and third rows of seats being replaced by two lounge-type seats. These seats have electronic adjustments for slide and recline, as well as electronically foldable footrests that you can place your legs and feet on. These two seats have their armrests on both sides, with a chrome finish on their outer edges.
When you open the rear doors of the DC2 Senator, the electrically retractable side step appears, helping you get in and out. The cabin here looks luxurious with lots of faux wood inlays and chrome accents on the door panels and bulkheads. The floor also has hidden compartments to store your drinks, glasses and shoes.
The DC Senator’s cabin is also equipped with a host of luxury features, including auto-retracting sun blinds, folding tables, mood lighting and a Rolls Royce star-effect roof lining. The large LCD TV placed in the center of the bulkhead can slide up, giving free access to the forward cabin. The lower part of the partition is also integrated with a refrigerator, which has a piano black finish and can slide back and forth on a slider placed between the floor.
While the overall cost of DC Senator customization isn’t revealed in the video, the overall result is worth considering for those who want to be chauffeur driven most of the time.
