For the first time in Europe, Bangladeshi manufacturers and entrepreneurs will be showcased at Dutch Design Week (DDW) 2022 in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.

Every year, hundreds of designers and innovators converge on Northern Europe’s largest design event where emerging thinking or trends in design, innovation, new materials, sustainability and concepts are presented to entrepreneurs across Europe and beyond.

The Bangladesh Embassy, in partnership with Brainport’s Eindhoven International Project Office (EIPO), is organizing a one-day event on October 27 to showcase Bangladesh, a press release read.

It was announced last week as part of the official design week calendar, available at

As Europe moves towards the circular economy and under the impetus of the EU Green Deal, consumers are increasingly sensitive to low carbon footprint products and are demanding new types of products.

The transformation of the European landscape therefore promises Bangladeshi manufacturers opportunities to invest in design thinking and ensure increased competitiveness and productivity, especially as Bangladesh emerges as a middle-income country (MIC).

The event aims to facilitate networking between some of the leading innovative Bangladeshi manufacturers and interested Dutch entrepreneurs and designers, the statement added.

Bangladeshi participants will also visit the leading Dutch design academy to understand the need and scope of “design” in manufacturing.

Bangladeshi companies – APEX Footwear, ACI, Nourish, Monno Ceramic and Walton – will join the event.
