Barrière RCMP are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect who attempted to break into the local liquor store.

At approximately 1:20 a.m. on Friday, May 20, Barrière RCMP responded to an ongoing break and enter report at the BC Liquor Store on Barriere Town Road. The canine service was called in for reinforcement.

When they arrived, the police noticed that someone had tried to break into the business, but they had been unsuccessful and the building had been damaged. Video surveillance has been obtained and shows a suspect trying to enter.

A side view of the suspect is available and is depicted as a possibly Caucasian male wearing a black baseball cap with a white logo on the front. He wears a white baklava, although the pattern cannot be determined from the images. The suspect appeared to be wearing a red T-shirt with dark jeans and black shoes with white soles.

If anyone has any information about the attempted break-in or can identify the person, please contact the Barrière RCMP at (250) 672-9918.
